What services do you offer?

We specialise in professional driver training for C1 and C1+E licences, including trailer, caravan or horsebox trailer training for horse owners, driver refresher and awareness courses, and regular Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) sessions.

Training is provided exclusively by Doug Johnson, a fully qualified instructor with 20+ years of experience — no brokers involved.

Doug has a proven history of high pass rates and satisfied clients across cars, vans, buses, and trucks. He now specialises in C1 van training, with or without a trailer.

Can I book training for driving staff at my company?

Yes. We regularly offer Driver CPC courses and can provide tailored refresher courses for employees at logistics companies, emergency services, and other professional organizations. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate your needs.

Do you travel for training?

Yes. While I’m based in Guildford, Surrey, I also travel across the South of England (travel expenses apply). This includes: Company sites (e.g. couriers, logistics firms, ambulance services), Horse owners’ farms or yards, so you can train with your own horsebox or trailer

What is the process to obtain your HGV Licence?
  1. Medical assessment – Doug can guide you through the requirements.

  2. Theory test – with advice and practical tips to help you prepare.

  3. Reversing test – taught on your very first day of training.

  4. On-road driving test – a one-hour test starting from the Guildford Test Centre, Slyfield Estate.

How long is a typical course?
  • C1 licence: 2–3 days depending on experience.

  • C1+E (with trailer): 3–4 days depending on experience.

  • Refresher courses: 1 day.
    Exact length will depend on your confidence and prior driving experience.
